I am Now a Fear Free Certified Professional

I am very proud to say that I am now a Fear Free® Certified professional, after passing the equine specific Veterinary Certification Programme.

I already use the Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) protocol and am dedicated to ensuring the horses I work with are relaxed and comfortable when handled or trained. However, I have wanted to take this equine-specific Fear Free course for about 18 months now, I just haven't had the time! I believe the Fear Free Certification is a fantastic initiative and something all vets, vet nurses, technicians and trainers should be using and supporting in practice.

Every horse deserves to have stress-free handling and training at all times. This course focuses on how to ensure handling and treatment of the horse during veterinary care does not cause fear, anxiety or stress. We must consider the horse's psychological and emotional wellbeing, not just the physical!
